Three quick checks
Check that EID appears under Settings → About phone and that Add eSIM appears in SIM management.
Have stable Wi-Fi and the provider QR code ready.
Check the carrier lock, exact model number, and sales region.
Step-by-step activation
-
Open SIM management
Go to Settings → Mobile network → SIM management.
-
Add an eSIM
Tap Add eSIM. On some models this option is shown under SIM 2.
-
Scan the QR code
Scan the QR code supplied with the package and confirm the on-screen download.
-
Enable the profile
Turn on the downloaded eSIM, give it a recognizable name, and select it for mobile data.
-
Set roaming
Enable data roaming for the new eSIM only if the package instructions require it; leave roaming off on the primary line.
Check your connection
Check that the eSIM is active and selected for mobile data in SIM management.
If there is no connection, toggle Airplane Mode and restart the phone.
Change the APN only if the provider supplied a specific value on the delivery screen.
If a step does not work
EID is missing
Check the exact model and sales region. If neither EID nor the eSIM menu appears, confirm compatibility with Huawei before buying.
Cannot add eSIM
Try another Wi-Fi connection, check that the QR code has not been used, and confirm that an eSIM profile slot is available.
No internet
Check the mobile-data line, data roaming, and any APN instructions supplied by the provider.
