Three quick checks
Have a stable Wi-Fi connection and your package QR code ready.
Confirm that the device is carrier-unlocked and that Add eSIM or Add mobile plan appears in SIM manager.
Menu labels can vary by One UI version, country, and carrier.
Step-by-step activation
-
Open SIM manager
Go to Settings → Connections → SIM manager (SIM card manager on some versions).
-
Add a new eSIM
Tap Add eSIM or Add mobile plan. If the device searches for nearby plans, choose the option to scan a QR code.
-
Scan the QR code
Scan the provider QR code and confirm adding the mobile plan. Use manual entry only if the provider supplied those details.
-
Choose the data line
In SIM manager, select the new eSIM for Mobile data and enable the line.
-
Set roaming
Under Settings → Connections → Mobile networks, enable Data roaming for the eSIM only if the package instructions require it.
Check your connection
Check that the eSIM is enabled and selected for mobile data in SIM manager.
Turn off data roaming on the primary SIM and review automatic data switching to avoid unintended use.
If there is no connection, toggle Airplane Mode and restart the device.
If a step does not work
Add eSIM is missing
Check for software updates, the exact model number, and sales region. If the menu is absent, confirm compatibility with Samsung or the seller.
Plan cannot download
Try another Wi-Fi connection, check whether the QR code was already used, and confirm that an eSIM profile slot is available.
Signal but no data
Check the selected mobile-data line, data roaming, and any APN instructions from the provider.
